A large number of students faced ragging in educational environments. Ragging decreases the morale and self-confidence of students. Some of them also lost their lives.
Considering the serious grievances, the Government of India launched an anti-ragging website www.antiragging.in to overcome the problems of ragging, annoyance, harassment to students, especially fresher’s by senior one’s in Colleges, Universities, Institutes and Institutions.
The website was launched by Kapil Sibal, HRD minister.
The main motto of the website is to reply faster online complaints against ragging and brought the culprits at the punishment level.
The portal has been designed by UGC in collaboration with Rajendra Kachroo who lost his son Aman in a ragging case in 2009 in a medical college of Himachal Pradesh.
